Inspired by the age old artisan trades of butchery and baking, BUTCHER BAKER brings honest food and good times to Bangalow. Located in a beautiful heritage building on the main street, this spacious modern café is owned and operated by local husband and wife team, Paul and Amanda Coughran.

Butcher Baker, combines a love of meat, bread and beer, with meat featuring heavily on the menu and all the breads, pastries and sweet treats are baked on-site from the in-house bakery. Butcher Baker is fully licensed, with local craft beer on tap, a carefully curated wine list, cocktails and non-alcoholic options such as fresh cold pressed juices and organic artisan sodas.

The aroma of fresh local specialty coffee and sourdough will entice you through the door to begin your day. While checking out the breakfast and lunch menu, you can settle on a comfy couch lit with an abundance of natural light from the floor to ceiling windows or chill out up the front under an original embossed plaster ceiling and warm glow of festoon lights.

The menu is crafted by our team of talented chefs, using fresh and local ingredients sourced where possible from the local growers and producers in the Byron Shire region.

We are also the proud winners of the Australian Good Food Guide Readers Choice Award (Northern Rivers Cafe) for two consecutive years in a row (2019, 2018).

Butcher Baker is open 7 days for breakfast and lunch with afternoon tapas and happy hour on Friday and Saturdays.
